In an effort to keep you informed, I want you to know about a simulation planned for the Clear Creek 9th Grade Center Campus on March 13, 2008 beginning at 10:00 a.m. Many 9th grade students have been working on an inter-disciplinary project involving the spread of an infectious disease. The project will culminate with a simulation of what the response would be if there was ever such an infectious disease outbreak. Area law enforcement, emergency, and hazmat crews will all participate and assist the 9th grade students in this simulation.
While biology students will be looking at slides to identify the disease, students in English classes will be writing about the process and procedures that would be in place in a situation such as this. It is our hope that by performing this exercise our students will gain a clear understanding of how the subjects they learn in school are used in the real world. Students will also be able to observe how different state and local authorities work together in time of crisis and to learn how they can be prepared in the event of an emergency of this magnitude.
We wanted to give you plenty of information about the simulation to be held on Thursday, March 13 so that the presence of emergency vehicles at the 9th Grade Center will not be cause for concern in the community.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Scott Bockart Principal Clear Creek High School
